Neck
Three-piece laminated hard maple. Cream celluloid binding.. Set Neck. Nut made of Brass. Laminated neck. The neck is made of Maple. The fingerboard is made of Rosewood. The neck is bound. The fingerboard is inlaid. (pearl dots).
Body
Laminated ash top, sides and back (some with maple center block with walnut stripes). Cream celluloid binding on top, back and f-holes.. Hole(s). (2 f-holes). Bound body. Body is made of Ash. Middle of the body is made of Maple. (There are models with, and without pickguard).
Electronics
Configuration: HH. 2 x Vantage #610PF (MMK61) alnico 5 humbuckers. Volume controls: 2. Tone controls: 2. There is a pick-up selector. The pick-up selector has 3 positions. This model is tap/coil capable. Tap/coil capability via push/pull.
Hardware
non-slip speed knobs. Bridge: Wide-travel ToM-style with brass saddle inserts. Stop/tail part: stop-bar (brass).
Notes
The first one in the pics was build in 1983. The second, earlier (1981) VSH455 has the neck-thru-look-alike stripes on the front, and no pickguard.
