Bolt-On. 21 frets. The neck is made of Maple. The fingerboard is made of Maple. The fingerboard is inlaid. (black dots).

Body
Body is made of Poplar. This model has a pickguard. (metal).

Electronics
Configuration: S. covered, slanted. Volume controls: 1. Tone controls: 1.

Hardware
chrome. This guitar has a one-piece bridge/stop. Bridge: fixed with cover.

Notes

1959: rosewood fingerboard replaces maple.
1960: tortoiseshell or white plastic pickguard replaces metal.
1964: 24 in scale.
1965: Musicmaster II is introduced (24 in scale).
1969: Musicmaster II discontinued, Musicmaster offered in 22.5 or 24 in scale.
1975: 24 in scale and 22 frets standard.
1976-1980: ash or alder bodies are found.
