Vincente Tatay Tomas, Model Vitato, 1960

A typical Spanish guitar out of that period. My first guitar which I bought in 1960 was a similar one. Altough the have competition from the east, Tatay went on using solid wood and not laminated. It has an simple but solid construction. The top is very nice german spruce with silver lines and the sides and back are made of mahogany. I did repair this litle instrument to the best of my ability. The top has a binding and purfling and the roset is really nice. The condition for a Spanish guitar out of that era is surprisingly good. All my guitars have a straight neck. This is your change to get a good Spanish instrument which is easy to play. The sound is dry and transparant with flamenco sustain. The basses and trebles are well balanced!

Wood all solid: top; german spruce, back and sides; mahogany, fretboard rosewood, bridge rosewood, neck; round, cedrella with a mahogany headplate.
Nut and sadle; bone.
Fingerboard; 55 - 63 mm
Frets; 18 brass.
Strings; new, DÁddario EJ46 Hard Tension.
Tuners; original nickel, good quality and good working.
Distance; from the top of the 12 th fret to the bottom of the strings, 4 mm
